My musical preference is ambient. But there are some artists who transcend this choice and capture my attention. First is Bono, who is a great man as well as a great musician.

Next I must endorse Dave Brubeck, whose lively improvisations at once subverted and redefined the elaborate structures of modern jazz.

Bono, Brubeck, they are great. Perhaps even greater, though, is Esquivel.

But most of all, I enjoy the musical variety of Herbie Hancock, a great spirit who breaks the conventional bonds of jazz and redefines his art in amazing ways.
